The Things I learned
Now that I have finished my 21 days of prayer and fasting, I thought I would share with you some of the things I learned from the Lord.
I learned that 21 days is a great length of time to seek the Lord. It wasn't too short that I felt like I had to hurry and seek God. It wasn't too long that I got weary of the season of fasting. It was just right.
I learned that the Lord wants to work things out of me and in me. God dealt with sin issues and holiness issues.
I learned there is power when you seek the Lord together. It was great to fast and pray as a body of believers. It was encouraging to join with others. Unity in praying equals multiplied power.
I learned that fasting helps you be a new wineskin. It also helps you develop a taste for the new wine (Holy Spirit).
I learned that fasting and praying is a way to minister to the Lord.
I learned that fasting and praying has given me a hope and expectation for all of 2009. I believe God will answer prayer throughout the year because of our 21 days.
What have you learned?
One Thing I Learned
I learned that though I thought I was doing well spiritually, God had so much to show me, teach me, and do in me. There were areas in my life that were competing for my heart and that I loved a little too much! During the 21 days, it's like God cleansed me spiritually and my heart is consumed with Him. I learned that there is a new level of seeking the Lord when distractions are out of the way.
Yes Milan, We think we are
Yes Milan,
We think we are doing well until the Lord shines His light into our heart. It takes courage to confront the truth. It is the function of God's Word to reveal what manner of person we are on the inside. Truth does not set you free. It is knowing the truth that sets you free. Blessings, Pastor Tim
